ABOUT US

WHS Homework Helpers Club is here to assist middle school students with any academic needs.

Our short-term goal is to be able to help students with questions on homework and improve their overall understanding of a subject. Our long-term goal is to be able to provide students with the skills and knowledge to help them transition into high school when the time comes.

We meet regularly every Tuesday, Wednesday, AND Thursday, from 2:15 to 3:00 PM in the Gibbons Middle School library, and from 3:00-3:30 in the cafeteria. Helpers in the WHS Homework Helpers club are first screened on what particular subjects they consider themselves knowledgeable in, and Helpers are rotated during our sessions based on that information. Some students in our club choose to scout through the hallways, assisting teachers as they provide extra academic help to students staying after school for extra help in the classrooms. Other helpers stay in the cafeteria, where they either engage students at our table in the library/cafeteria during "late room" to find students in need of assistance.

In addition to our meetings at Gibbons, we've maintained an email ask-service, facebook page, and website, in order for students in seek of our help to further contact us, even when we are not actually there during our standard sessions.
